We are looking for a Head of Finance to join our strong finance team.  Based in Malta, your role is to develop the accounting department to support the group operations to deliver on targets in line with our mission and vision. Develop and maintain adequate internal controls to safeguard the Group’s assets and to ensure the internal and external financial reporting is prepared timely and is true and fair to support our business.

Honesty and integrity play a vital role in finance.  The finance team is a first line of defence in making sure that the Group presents a true and fair picture of its operational results and financial position.

Overall role & responsibility

Accounting team – Head the Group’s Accounting team within the Finance department, lead and coach the team during the monthly and yearly closing processes including keeping dead-lines in accordance with the group financial plan.

Safeguarding assets – maintain adequate internal controls to safeguard the Group’s assets and to ensure the internal and external financial reporting is true and fair.

Team Development – ensure finance department work in line with company core values and strategy. Year-end reviews should be facilitated and be documented by the closest manager with all team members.

Specific Roles

Cash Management: Handling treasury and cash management, including monitor bank balances held at the different financial institutions, payment processing (authorities), observing any FX or other exposures while ensuring adequate cash flows are kept to meet the  organization’s needs. Also review monthly cash flow projections to ensure effective use of any excess cash and prepare monthly reporting of cash projection. Also put in controls in place to make sure all creditors’ invoices are settled within the credit period.

Cost efficiency: Work closely with CFO and COO in evaluating cost efficiency.

Oversee the Group’s statutory finance-related obligations, including the filing of VAT returns, payroll handling, NSO surveys, income tax returns and the external audit process.

Monthly Group consolidation: Oversee and review the Acroud Group’s monthly consolidation in accordance with IFRS as adopted by the EU and support the group consolidation team in any difficulties encountered during the process. This includes the preparation of monthly cash flow statement for internal and external reporting.

Statutory Accounts: responsible for coordinating the work with preparing the statutory accounts for all the subsidiaries together with Finance managers.

Group Annual Report: Responsible for coordinating the preparation of the back-part of Acroud Group Annual Report including the notes, in both ENG and SWE versions.

Group Interim Reports:  Responsible for coordinating the preparation of the Acroud Interim Reports including the notes, in both ENG and SWE versions. Also responsible to quality check the entire English and Swedish interim report before publishing to market in dialogue with CFO.

Accounting: Support the CFO in developing accounting papers and investigating potential accounting related considerations within IFRS areas and new upcoming accounting standards impacting internal and external reporting.

Impairment test: On a quarterly basis, prepare an impairment test for the Group’s main CGUs and prepare accounting paper supporting valuation.

Tax: Ensure that all tax filings and payments (VAT, Social security, Income tax, etc) are affected on time for all entities under her responsibility.

Policy: Support CFO in implementing new policies and controls which are approved by the Board (e.g. MICS).

Audit: main contact during the yearly audit of Acroud AB’s and its Malta-based subsidiaries within the iGaming Affiliation segment.

Monthly financial internal report: update the monthly financial report with analysis of balance sheet/cash flow and costs.

Covenant reporting: Monthly follow up of covenant status and preparation of quarterly reporting of compliance letter to banks

Budget: participate in the yearly budget process.

System ownership: System owner for the accounting system Navision. Ensure that the “chart of accounts” are aligned between legal entities and to the budgeting structure.

Development projects: Participate and coordinate projects related to the finance department such as ad hoc reporting to the CFO based on discussions being held with management, upgrading the finance system, mapping company processes, establishing financial guide, etc.

Requirements

  • University degree in accounting or/and ACCA qualified
  • Audit experience 5+ years with BIG4 companies with senior role experience is considered an asset
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS
  • Strong knowledge in group consolidations and knowledge of coordinating interim reports/annual report in a listed environment
  • Comfortable user of MS office tools; and finance tools (knowledge of Business Dynamics is an asset)
  • Strong work ethic with a passion for financial analysis and reporting
  • Comfortable working with big volume of information and data
